After conducting a school-wide survey and consulting the Southport Elementary School principal, teachers, and regional environmental educators interested in helping West Sacramento schools better utilize internal and external resources, the Southport Elementary School Garden was designed in a vacant corner between teaching facilities to serve as a teaching garden to meets the needs of teachers and students.
I conducted a topographic survey, consulted with stakeholders, designed the garden, hand-drew the final plans, and presented the plans to the school.
"Daniel, Thanks so very much for all of your hard work in designing and planning our Science Center. I can tell you did a tremendous amount of work on it. It is a lovely plan and I want to thank you so much. I think the idea about the benches and the work area and the plan in general is fantastic!! You incorporated all of the children's ideas and Sukey and my ideas, too!! I am excited to get started on it!! It will be a perfect place for the children to have for exploration and learning in science and arts. Thanks so much." Diane Smith, Principal Southport Elementary School, 3/7/2006
